I had to give him the benefit of the doubt.
WHITE HOUSE DOWN 2013 MOVIE
I was a bit hesitant to see this movie at all, but it’s Roland Emmerich… Sure he may have done 2012, but he also gave us the greatest Independence Day movie ever. I could just be remembering the trailers wrong, but would you really put it past Hollywood? I went into the theater to see White House literally the day after I watched Olympus, so the comparisons were fresh in my mind. Both plots seemed amazingly similar, and I swear some shots in the trailers were direct shot-for-shot copies. White House Down being released so soon after Olympus Has Fallen seemed like folly to me. This has almost gotten so bad that you see a trailer for one and thing and think “Hey, I thought that came out already!”. Whatever the actual reasons for this, the release dates between these movies has begun to get closer and closer together.

I could go on, but I think you get my point. Of course this reaches back farther then ’06 if you really look, it just seemed so weird. In ’06 The Prestige and The Illusionist were back to back period pieces about magicians. The first few times, I thought it was an accident. One of the biggest phenomena in Hollywood that always cracks me up is when movies of a similar flavor are released in pairs.
